Every year the Asinabka Film & Media Arts Festival does a film screening during National Aboriginal Day in Ottawa in order to celebrate the best in Indigenous film. This year we held our event a bit early on June 12 at Club SAW, and screened a collection of insightful short films that reflect empowerment for indigenous woman, girls and two-spirit people. This event was in partnership with the two-spirit committee for Walking With Our Sisters - Ottawa, and all proceeds were donated towards the WWOS memorial exhibition which is coming to Ottawa in the fall of 2015.  The event started with an Indigenous Walking Tour about Indigenous Women & stories through the social, political and cultural landscape of Ottawa.
